29th May Matchbouts Update
EXCELLENT JOB!
I would like to thank you all for making the 29th May 2011 Wrestling Matchbouts a successes.
The matchbouts were held at the Bayside Christian College, and the facility was amazingly set up. This has been a great step up for our club showing other Victorian wrestling clubs and Victorian Wrestling Association our abilities to hold and manage wrestling events. It is because of you all we have been successful.
Special thanks:
The highlights of the Wrestling Matchbouts:
Performance Highlights:
Our club objectives were to be a team and to deliver wrestling performance in applying all the technical & tactical wrestling knowledge we have learned over the past couple of months. As a team we have show many what a great & unify team we are. We have delivered 11 victories and these victories were greatly earned. I have seen great technical & tactical moves and victorious determination by all of you and I am proud of you all no matter of the losses we experienced.
Performance Lows:
As a club we had 12 losses and for some athletes these losses were achieved due to slight technical & tactical errors that resolved in pins or loss of points and falling behind in points to reach the required points for victory.
Every loss is discouraging for the athlete, team & coach, but losses must be seen as a way towards improvement. The technical & tactical mistakes performed must be addressed by the coach and together we must strive to work towards development & improvement so the victory in the future can be earned.
Gaining Victory
As a club & team we must learn and believe that in wrestling the ‘WINS ARE EARNED’. These wins strongly rely on technical & tactical knowledge of an individual wrestler that he learns in his practices and applies them in his competitions. Strong determination to win and hard work of the athlete he puts in during the competition is very essential and also must be learned.
The ‘tactics of wrestling‘ implies the ability of the wrestler to achieve a strategic aim by ingeniously implementing during the match his technical knowledge and putting to advantage his physical and psychological qualities in all the changing situations on the ground of all the information he has on his opponent. Continually be encouraged in your role as an athlete and as an ambassador for the sport of wrestling.
The victory is yours!
